Congratulations Anea!

After many months, and countless conversations with coaches, his parents and his advisor, the 6'1", 197lb defensemen made his choice. "Once I visited Brown, I knew it was the place for me. I chose Brown because I couldn't pass up the Ivy League academics mixed with a top D1 hockey program, as well as a campus that just felt right for me, and the coaching staff is a great fit." Ferrario said.

Ferrario started playing hockey after watching the 2002 Olympics in his home state. At 4 years old, Anea stepped on the Ice with Golden Spike to begin his journey. The journey took him from Golden Spike Hockey, to the Regulators and finally the decision to move to Colorado at age 14 to play for the Thunderbirds. Ferrario was drafted 25 overall in the 2014 USHL Prospects Draft by Bloomington. He was traded shortly after to Des Moines where he has had a chance to play a handful of games this season, while his regular team, Victory Honda U16s have off weekends. Ferrario is planning on being in Des Moines full time for the start of the 2015/16 season.

"This is one of the biggest accomplishments of my life. I'm dedicating four years of my life to Brown, but I know it's the right choice for me, and I can't wait for my time at Brown" Ferrario said. "Hockey has brought me so many opportunities I can't even begin to name them all. I wouldn't be the person I am today or have some of my favorite memories without hockey. So many people have helped me along the way, all my past and present coaches, Mariko, my power skating coach, and of course my biggest support team, my family", Ferrario said.

Brown gets huge pick up with Ferrario signing.
