THE UTAH LADY GRIZZLIES
Are you a Female Hockey Player and want to see if you have what it takes to help the Utah Lady Grizzlies win their second consecutive Rocky Mountain District Championship and appearance at the USA Hockey National Championship Tournament? The Utah Lady Grizzlies are pleased to announce their Try-Out Camp for the 2015 -2016 season. The Try-Out Camp is being held on August 10th and 17th at the Salt Lake City Sport Complex located at 645 Guardsman Way, Salt Lake City, UT from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm. Players must attend both sessions. Players who want to play for the Lady Grizzlies and cannot make one of these ice sessions must contact Head Coach Stan Weiss (firstname.lastname@example.org), to make special arrangements or be granted an exception. A Try-Out Camp Fee of $30 is due upon checking in to the Camp. Any player granted an exception, will also be required to pay the Camp Fee. Players must also bring a copy of their 2015 – 2016 USA Hockey Registration to the Camp (www.usahockeyregistration.com). Players cannot be allowed on the ice without the USA Hockey Registration form.
A parent meeting will be held on September 17th following the on-ice session to introduce the program for the 2015 – 2016 season. We will meet in one of the bleacher areas around the West rink.
The Utah Lady Grizzlies is a Tier II (AA) level competitive team of girls and young women ages 15 through 19. The team typically plays 10 to 15 local scrimmage games, travels the intermountain west to 5 or 6 tournaments, not counting Nationals. We will be trying to organize a local Presidents Day Tournament this season.
Experienced female hockey players under the age of 15 may be allowed to try-out for the Lady Grizzlies only upon advance approval by the Head Coach, or if they have previously been rostered on a Lady Grizzly Team. Girls age 14 and under are encouraged to contact the Salt Lake County Lady Lightning. See the link: http://www.youthhockey.slco.org/hockeyPrograms/lightningSelect.html
The Lady Grizzlies are also planning to allow a few select development positions for players who need to hone their skills or who just want to experience playing on an all- girls team, but do not want to commit to the tournament travel.
